Te Atatu Family Home

Lead Interior Designer

This 1960’s Bungalow was completely stripped back to framework, apart from the recently updated kitchen. The owners wanted to create a comfortable, warm family home that kept some of the bungalow’s character. Being on a budget we focused on the hard fit-out with the view of updating furniture pieces in the future. Working with what furniture they already had we decided to allow for a new couch and custom cabinetry pieces to compliment the living area layout.

The house was refreshed with insulation, double glazed joinery, relined & painted. The main improvements included a new bathroom with custom vanity, pre-finished wood veneer feature walls in the lounge, modern lighting, refinished beautiful original Matai floorboards and new carpet in the bedrooms. We kept the original wooden interior doors which retained some of the original character and added to the more relaxed feel the client wanted.
